Voluntary Inspection Program List of Off-Campus Rental Apartments

The Voluntary Rental Inspection Program is intended to provide prospective renters with information on rental properties and units that have voluntarily agreed to be inspected on the basis of Community Safety Guidelines. These guidelines were developed through the efforts of the Gainesville Apartment Association, Alachua County, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, the City of Gainesville, the Gainesville Police Department, Santa Fe Community College Police Department, Student Government at the University of Florida, and the University of Florida Police Department. The guidelines are available at the University of Florida Division of Housing or any of the above noted police departments. Rental property owners submit inspection requests to the University Police Department by mail or fax. Representatives of the Gainesville Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff's Department, the University of Florida Police Department, and the Santa Fe Community College Police Department conduct property inspections on a rotational basis.

The University of Florida accepts no responsibility for the safety or any other condition of the properties listed. The University of Florida expressly disclaims giving any guarantees, warrantees, or any other representation that the properties are safe or recommended. The University does not approve or recommend to students or others any off-campus rental properties listed. Students living off-campus must make their own individual and personal choices with regard to the selection of living accommodations. This list only indicates the rental properties that have met the Community Safety Guidelines and have been certified through the Voluntary Rental Inspection Program.

Properties that have been inspected and certified according to the Community Safety Guidelines are listed below. This list is subject to change as properties are certified or decertified. Certificates are valid for two years.
