Welcome! You have now arrived at the University of Florida Police Department’s Patrol Division Web Site. The Patrol Division is the largest division within the police department. Its purpose is to provide the highest level of security and public safety assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether our officers are in their patrol vehicle or on motorcycle, bicycle, or foot; they perform a wide variety of services. These services include, but are not limited to, responding to calls for service, writing reports, conducting preliminary investigations, checking the security of university property and providing traffic enforcement and crowd control during special events. In fact, during every University of Florida home football game, the population size of our jurisdiction can easily exceed 100,000 people. Additionally, members of the Patrol Division responded to 46,081 calls for service during the fiscal year of 2009-2010.
Headed by an Associate Director with the rank of Deputy Chief, there are a total of 65 sworn officers assigned to this division; including two captains, six lieutenants and nine sergeants. All members of the Patrol Division are equipped with the latest in law enforcement equipment and, as with all of our sworn officers, are required to complete annual mandatory training established through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and/or our own departmental directives.
We hope that you have the time available to view the information pertaining to the various programs and activities conducted by the members of the Patrol Division. We will continue to expand our sources of information as they become available so please be sure to check back often.
